Greene County Community Foundation is a platform for building Greene county communities.

Purpose
The Greene County Community Foundation is a vehicle for charitable giving capable of benefiting the entire county. Through the mechanism of endowment funds, charitable minded individuals can establish funds to build a permanent source of charitable assets to meet emerging, as well as existing, needs of the community. Through the establishment of the pass-through fund, the Greene County Community Foundation and its donors can facilitate capital campaigns and other charitable needs.
Mission
The mission of the Greene County Community Foundation is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the condition of the county. To these ends, it will promote endowment building, sense of community, grantmaking, organizational collaborations and public leadership for the benefit of the Greene county area.
Affiliation
The GCCF is led by a volunteer board of directors. To utilize
valuable staff expertise, investment management and office
efficiency, the GCCF is an affiliate of the Greater Des Moines
Community Foundation. This affiliation makes it possible for us to
provide many opportunities for philanthropists in greater Greene
County.
The Greene County Community Foundation has two
primary functions:
- To receive, manage and distribute funds made available by the
Iowa County Endowment Fund legislation for the benefit of Greene County communities and organizations.
- To provide a means for donors to make gifts that address the
challenges and issues confronting Greene County communities and organizations now and in the future.
