Our foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in our county and its communities by acting as a catalyst for charitable giving.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation for the Enhancement of Mitchell County is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions of Mitchell County. To these ends, the foundation will promote endowment building, grant making, organizational collaboration, and public leadership for the benefit of the Mitchell County area.
Our Affiliation
The FEMC is led by a volunteer board of directors. To utilize valuable staff expertise, investment management and office efficiency, we are an affiliate of the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation. This affiliation makes it possible for us to
provide many opportunities for philanthropists wishing to make a difference here in our county.
